Laurence J. Perez LakeGeneral Description
Located in the scenic woodlands of central Pennsylvania, this 700-acre park features
rustic looking facilities in a natural setting. The wood and stone buildings are
in harmony with the natural beauty of the valley, rich with hardwood, conifers,
and wildlife. Laurence J. Perez lake (previously known as Stone Valley Lake,) which
is fed by Shaver's Creek, provides homes for beavers, fish, frogs, turtles, and
other water loving creatures.
Explore the lake by boat; rent a canoe or rowboat to fish the lake and enjoy the
scenic shoreline and wildlife, or ride with the wind in one of our sailboats.
Share the excitement of catching rainbow trout, bass, pickerel, and other species
in the 72-acre lake. The lake is open daily for fishing from the first day of trout
season in April through the end of the winter fishing season in February. With 1.2
miles of shoreline, the lake provides habitat for a variety of species including
catfish, panfish (sunfish, bluegill), rock bass, bass, pickerel, and trout. While
other species reproduce naturally in the lake, trout are stocked annually.
From April through February, fishing enthusiasts can access the lake daily at
the Mineral Industries Day Use Area Public Parking Area. Across the lake, the
Boathouse access is open from April through November. Fishing is permitted along
most sections of the shoreline, except as noted on the map of the area. Private
boats are welcome with the purchase of a launch permit.
