West Branch of Susquehanna River

General Description

The West Branch meanders through some of the most remote and diverse plant and animal communities in Pennsylvania. Trail users will be presented with multiple opportunities to witness some of the more common species, and quite possibly some of the state's rarest ones as well. The water conditions are constantly improving. The Water Trail winds 228 miles from Cherry Tree in Indiana County to Shikellamy State Park in Northumberland/Sunbury.

Sections 6 and 7 are featured here and used for flat water paddling.

This river is not suitable for fishing.
