Mount Davis Moderate Loop
Although listed as a moderate trail, this hike crosses rocky terrain with several steep rises and falls as it winds from the state’s highest point down into a deep valley before rising again. Along the way, hikers will trek through stands of pitch pine, past a quiet stream and the remnants of an old stone quarry. Wildlife viewers can enjoy spotting the many species of indigenous birds and animals who thrive in this wooded region. A nearby picnic area with water, restrooms, picnic tables, grills and a shelter make this destination a favorite for spending a day in the outdoors.
