Laurel Mountain Ski Area Moderate

Following the same trails that serve as a popular cross-country ski destination in the winter, this hike passes through wooded areas lined with mountain laurel. The trails range from wide, smooth tracks, to rocky, narrow paths as they rise and fall through the landscape of The Alleghenies. Along the way, deer, grouse, varieties of songbirds and other mountain top wildlife can be spotted. A short half-mile spur off the main route leads to Beam Rocks - a 70-foot rock outcropping great for climbing, bouldering and rappelling.
