General Description
Chest Creek originates near the village of Winterset and flows north to Mahaffey where it discharges into the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Pennsylvania Fish Commission recognizes the creek as a good quality cold-water fishery and approves it to receive trout stockings.
For canoers and kayakers, the Chest Creek LR11038 to West Br. Susquehanna River section provides Class III rapids for paddlers of medium experience.
Beginning paddlers can hone their river running skills on the calmer waters of Clearfield Creek.
